Type of License:
When ordering
custom icons
from VirtualLNK, you will receive a
"site license".
This entitles "one company" at "one location" to use the icons in any number of
projects, subject to the terms of this agreement.
Exclusivity of designs:
VirtualLNK agrees not to use the designs in our stock icon collections
or future client projects subject to the following terms:
- The design requested is not a modification of an existing VirtualLNK stock icon.
- The design requested is not already scheduled for a future VirtualLNK stock icon
collection release or an ongoing client project. This is rare and would be on a
case by case basis. If such a condition exists, we will notify you before
the start of the project. This is provided that we have received sufficient requirements
detailing both the style and concepts requested. Otherwise notification may occur
during the ongoing project. If exclusivity is still required, we can offer variations
in the form of style and/or concept changes.
- The design requested is not a standard symbol or trademark such as the Microsoft
Windows Logo, the Linux Penguin, etc. This also applies to commonly used symbols
such as currency and medical symbols. To achieve a unique design, various elements
can be used to present the symbol in a unique way.
- With standard metaphors such
as user or email icons, exclusivity can only be provided in the form of coloring,
style, clothing, hair, texture, perspective, or other miscellaneous
cosmetic changes.
- The design was rejected and will not be used as part of the custom icon set.
Disclaimer of exclusivity:
Although VirtualLNK makes every effort to prevent the duplication of icon designs,
we shall not be held liable in the instance that a icon design is duplicated or
deemed to be "too similar" to a VirtualLNK stock icon or other custom design used
for a VirtualLNK client project. In such a case VirtualLNK agrees to either refund
the purchase price of the design in question or create a new design free of charge.
No transfer of ownership:
You may not lease, resell, license, or sub-license the images, or a subset thereof,
to any third party. This also applies to any derived or modified artwork from the
original icons. Although the client holds rights to the designs, the images may
not be used to sell or otherwise promote image collections that compete directly
with VirtualLNK, LLC. The images may not be made available for use in their original
and/or modified forms.
No royalty fees:
There are no royalty fees associated with the use of the icons. The license
is good for any number of applications, websites, or media subject to the terms
of this agreement.
Distributing the images:
All distributed images must be "in use" by the distributed application or website.
You may not include the collection to "add value" to your product or service. This
would be considered a conflict of interest and/or attempt to resell or otherwise promote
images that compete directly with VirtualLNK, LLC.

All images are provided "as is" without warranties of merchantability and fitness
for a particular purpose. By purchasing
custom icons
from VirtualLNK you agree to hold them harmless for any result that may occur during the course of using the
images.
